Day 1: Arrival and Bigodi Wetland Walk
After arriving in the Kibale area, kick off your adventure with a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This 3-hour eco-walk is a true feast for the senses. The swamp is home to over 200 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek. You’ll also encounter various primates like red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and vervet monkeys commonly found in Kibale National Park. Keep an eye out for bushbuck, bushpig, and even the elusive sitatunga antelope hiding in the reeds.
